Marlene Kuba
 The u2can sew DVD's is the brainchild of Marlene Kuba from Auckland in New Zealand. She has been tutoring sewing classes professionally for 25 years and was sewing professionally for 13 yrs before starting her first sewing class.
At the age of 14, out of need, Marlene purchased her first pattern and fabric and made her first garment to wear to a party. This first garment set her on the way to becoming a life long sewer. The thrill of making and wearing her own clothing was wonderful.
After many of her thousands of students said they wish they could take her home, so they wouldn't have to wait a week for futher instructions or help, she started dreaming about putting these techniques onto a DVD so that people can keep them at hand.
Finally after 10 years of planning and many months spent filming and editing, the first series entitled "Essential Sewing Skills' has now become available. It is a resource every sewer should have.
Marlene still tutors at her sewing academy "Finishing Touches Academy of Fashion Design" in Albany, Auckland, NZ.
Cheryl Denton
Cheryl became a partner and involved in Sewing With Confidence through the work of Runningman Productions Ltd. Marlene first approached Runningman earlier in 2009 to produce the DVD series.
Husband and wife team Andrew and Cheryl Denton produced, shot and edited what was initially conceived as a five hour series and which grew to be the 11 hr comprehensive "Essential Sewing Skills" set with other sewing resources currently in pre-production.
It became apparent to the Dentons, that Marlene's vision was a worthwhile venture and with Cheryl's involvement for many years as an educator, she saw the value of Marlene's work. She then committed to becoming a partner with Marlene and assist in upskilling people worldwide.
'Craft' and 'How to' videos have always appealed to Runningman Productions and they have been exceptionally pleased to have been given the opportunity to be a part of producing such a comprehensive work.
